Quran Words — Support
Quran Words lets you say or type any word of the Qur’an and find it, with what it means, how it is built, and the ayah it appears in. It works entirely offline.

Common questions
The microphone button does nothing, or says it cannot hear
The app uses the speech recogniser built into your phone. Check that the app is allowed to use the microphone and speech recognition in your phone’s Settings, and that a language pack is installed. Arabic recognition is more reliable when your phone has Arabic added as a keyboard or system language. Typing always works, whatever the microphone does.
How do I type an Arabic word without an Arabic keyboard?
Type it by its sound in English letters — hamd, layl, kitab. Tap “How do I type each letter?” under the search box for the full alphabet. For a word carrying اَلْ, add a dash: al-hamdu, dhul-qarnain. Letters that share a sound share a spelling, so s finds both س and ص.
I said a word and it found a different one
That is the app working as designed. It matches by sound rather than by exact spelling, and lists everything close underneath the best match — including the words a listener could confuse yours with. The word you wanted is usually in that list.
Does the app need the internet?
No. Every word, meaning, table and example is stored inside the app. The only thing that may leave your device is speech, which your phone’s own recogniser handles — see the privacy policy.
Where does the information come from?
Word grammar and roots follow the Quranic Arabic Corpus morphology; word-by-word renderings follow its translation data; dictionary senses come from Wiktionary, checked against the Qur’an’s own renderings. The About page inside the app lists every source in full.
