Privacy Policy — Quran Words

Quran Words is made by Seemabooks, LLC. This policy covers the app on both Google Play and the Apple App Store. It is short because the app does very little with data: essentially nothing.

What we collect

Nothing. Quran Words collects no personal information, no usage statistics and no identifiers of any kind. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics of any sort. We do not know who uses the app, how often, or what they look up.

How the app works

Everything the app shows — every word of the Qur’an, its meaning, its grammar, the particles, the root tables and the sound-alike sets — is stored inside the app itself when you install it. Searching happens entirely on your own device.

The Android version declares no permissions at all and no internet access. The iPhone version likewise makes no network connections of its own.

Voice search

This is the one place where something leaves the app, so it is worth stating plainly.

When you press the microphone button, the app hands the request to the speech recogniser that is already built into your phone — Apple’s on iPhone, Google’s on Android. That system service listens, converts what you said into text, and returns the text to the app. The app then searches for it.

Depending on your device and its settings, that system service may send the audio to Apple’s or Google’s servers to be recognised. That processing is governed by Apple’s privacy policy or Google’s privacy policy, not by this one. We have no access to the audio, receive no recording, and are told nothing about you — only the words the recogniser returned, which are used to run your search and then discarded.

The app never records audio itself, never stores what you said, and never transmits anything anywhere on its own. If you would rather nothing left your device, simply type the word instead of speaking it: every feature of the app works by typing.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
